Dialyzed Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is used in applications requiring serum depleted of small molecular weight molecules such as nucleosides and amino acids that are necessary for alternative biochemical survival pathways. The dia-filtration process produces consistent results and reduces hypoxanthine and thymidine concentrations below detectable limits. The glucose level, which is representative of the extent of dialysis, is monitored through-out the process. The process is completed when the glucose level is < 5mg / dl.
