Application:
Co-culture, epithelial cell polarity, migration, invasion, transport, and permeability studies.
Permeable supports, also known as cell culture inserts, are an essential tool for the study of both anchorage-dependent and independent cell lines.
This product produces a cell culture environment that closely resembles an in vivo state. Allow polarized cells to carry out metabolic activities in a more natural manner because the cells feed both apically and basolateral.
Product Features:
- Innovative hanging design facilitates pipetting.
- Supplied in multiple well plates: 6-well, 12-well, 24well.
- PC Membrane: low adsorption rate, reducing the loss of small molecular proteins and other compounds.
- Transparent PET inserts permit sufficient optical transparency for visualization of cell outlines by phase contrast microscopy.
- Transparent PET Membrane is easy to observe.
- The PC membrane is not easy to be torn or curled, and it is easy to operate when taking out the chamber.
- Compatible with most solvents used for fixing and dyeing.
Select a Pore Size
In general, smaller pore sizes (0.4 and 1.0μm) are used for culturing cells, co-culture applications, and drug transport studies. Larger pore sizes (3.0 to 8.0μm) are recommended for chemotaxis and angiogenesis applications. Please refer to the Applications guide below for more information.

Descriptions From Manufacturer:
Cell and tissue culture technologies have an increasing importance in the fields of basic and applied life science. New culture vessels and new surfaces for cell adsorption are continuously emerging, in order to simulate the internal environment as much as possible for culture of some special cell lines. Logically, using permeable supports with a microporous membrane becomes the basic method for culturing these cells. Permeable supports may effectively improve the culture of polar cells, because these supports allow cells to secrete on and absorb molecules from their basal and apical surfaces to metabolize in a more natural way, as well as to stimulate the in vivo environment to the maximum extent for culturing of some special cell lines.
