2x Protein Sample Buffer

Description

Protein Sample Buffer is a complete solution for the preparation of protein samples prior to SDS-PAGE. Many proteins are sensitive to pH changes that result from temperature fluctuations during electrophoresis in Tris buffers. This optimized sample buffer prevents protein degradation during sample heating prior to SDS-PAGE as well as during the electrophoresis run. The sample buffer contains bromophenol blue dye allows for tracking the progress of electrophoresis.

Components

• 0.1M Tris-HCl.
• 0.2M DTT.
• 4% SDS.
• 0.06% Bromophenol blue.
• 20% Glycerol.

Directions for Use

Add 1/10 volume DTT into 1-volume 2x Protein Sample Buffer before use. Mix 1-volume sample buffer with 1-volume protein sample, and sample to SDS-PAGE gel.

Storage Conditions

Supplied as a 2x solution, 25mL Store at RT.
