6x DNA Loading Buffer

Description

TriBo™ DNA Loading Buffer is a complete solution for the preparation of DNA samples prior to agarose gel electrophoresis and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. This optimized loading buffer prevents DNA degradation during the electrophoresis run. The loading buffer contains two tracking dyes, bromophenol blue and Xylene cyanol that allow for tracking the progress of electrophoresis. In 1% agarose gels, Xylene cyanol typically migrates at about the same rate as a 4000 base pair DNA fragment, bromophenol blue migrates at the same rate as a DNA fragment of approximately 500 base pairs. Xylene cyanol or tracking dye on a 6% polyacrylamide gel migrates at the speed of a 140 base pair DNA fragment. Glycerol is included in the loading buffer to ensure DNA samples remain in the gel wells after loading.

Components:

• 0.1M Tris-HCl.
• 0.1% Bromophenol blue.
• 0.1% Xylene cyanol.
• 30% Glycerol.

Directions for Use:

Mix 1-volume DNA loading buffer with a 5-volume DNA sample, loading to agarose or polyacrylamide gel.

Storage Conditions:

Supplied as a 6X solution, 5x 1 mL.
Store at 4°C or room temperature.
