Actinomycin D (50-76-0) is a cyclopeptide antibiotic and intercalating transcription inhibitor with anti-neoplastic activity. Potent inhibitor of RNA polymerase. Induces apoptosis in a variety of cancer cell lines via the intrinsic pathway. Upregulates proapoptotic PUMA and downregulates Bcl-2 mRNA in peripheral blood lymphocytes.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 2 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions are not stable and must be made fresh and used within one working day. Do not store solutions.
