GABA-A positive allosteric modulator

Functions

Endogenous neurosteroid which acts as a positive allosteric modulator of GABAA receptors. Recently FDA approved (Brexanolone) for postpartum depression. Inhibits TLR4 receptor activation and inflammatory signaling in macrophages and brain. Inhibits glutamate release and displays neuroprotective effects in various animal models.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 32 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 32 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20° for up to 1 month.
